'Sup?

Double Gameweek announcements, manager hiring and firing, injuries, narrative shifts, player arrivals and departures...quite a lot has happened since Gameweek 21.

This is a quick bonus email to talk you through the stuff you need to know. Don't say we don't spoil you.

A Β£120m Premier League deal

If you've been subscribed to this newsletter for longer than a few weeks, you'll know that we don't team up with sponsors unless:

1) we really like 'em. 2) they give our readers (that's you) some great perks.

For those reasons, we're teaming up with Sorare Starter for the next few weeks. They tick the above boxes.

Earlier today, Sorare - a next-gen fantasy game - signed a Β£120m deal with the Premier League, which means you're going to start seeing it everywhere. Here's a clip of the launch video, in which a Palace fan buys...zero Palace players.

The premise is simple: buy, sell, trade and manage a virtual team that you actually own. It's taking the footballing world by storm because, unlike good ol' FPL, you stand a chance of making money if you've got them football smarts.

You can either sign up to Sorare and get zilch, or you can sign up via Sorare Starter by clicking this link and get:

🎁 a free Sorare card once you've bought your first five.🧠 access to a Sorare beginner's guide.🀝 1-2-1 support if you need it.

Double Gameweek 22

You probably know this by now, but Man United and Leeds will have two fixtures in Gameweek 22.

Man United: Crystal Palace (H), Leeds (H)

Leeds: Nottingham Forest (A), Man United (A)

The FPL implications

Given United's current form, any Double Gameweek involving them would've been intriguing, but two home games against fallible opposition is about as good as it gets. Some are even toying with the Triple Captain.

Expect everyone serious about FPL to have three Man United players: probably Shaw, Rashford and Fernandes. These three should be quite self-explanatory, with Fernandes perhaps the exception.

There's method behind his rising popularity. Since the restart, he's third for predicted points and predicted goal involvements amongst midfielders. With 39 points to his name since Ronaldo left United, his actual returns have been pretty bloody good too.

Forget pre-World Cup Fernandes: this new incarnation is more akin to the one that scored 244 points in his first full season.

Leeds, meanwhile, are less exciting. Whilst Nottingham Forest looks like a good fixture with our pre-World Cup goggles on, the truth is that, since Gameweek 17, they actually have the seventh-best defensive stats in the league. Having conceded just five-goals, they're joint-third-best for actual defensive performance too.

Marsch's side will visit two of the Premier League's current top 5 for defensive form.

If you are looking to invest, there's a good chance you're looking at Gnonto. I thought this graphic - courtesy of Fantasy Football Fix - was interesting:

Everything everywhere all at once.

Going onto Ben Crellin's Twitter at the moment is sort of like stepping into the multi-verse. The fixture calendar seems to have an infinite number of possible iterations, most of which are contingent on the outcomes of football matches that are yet to be played.

It's confusing.

FPLMate has attempted to clarify the schedule with a brightly coloured graphic. We liked it:

We'll keep you updated as and when other doubles/blanks are confirmed.

Cancelo cancelled

Joao Cancelo looks to be going to Bayern Munich on loan, according to multiple sources.

This brutal turn of events follows a period of post-World Cup rotation for the once-nailed fullback, and, as is tradition with City's fallen angels, it's the German league leaders who appear most likely to give him a home.

The decision seems to be player-driven, with the Portuguese citing a desire to continue playing at the highest level. But we may have to wait for his obligatory post-retirement autobiography, Cancelo Culture, before we learn the full story.

As somebody on the Premium WhatsApp group spotted, the news means he's due a drop in price too.

Dyche to Everton

In news that has devastated the Toffees-supporting Professor, Sean Dyche is Everton's new manager after Lampard was sacked last week.

Premium subscribers will already know how The Professor feels about it. Here's a snippit:

"A team with a bad defence may develop a slightly better defence, but will still have an awful attack.

I’m sure I don’t have to encourage you but keep treating Everton assets as you have been: by not touching them at all."

Damning stuff. Here's the full article from the Prof.

Ferguson Injured

The Β£4.6m Evan Ferguson was rapidly gathering steam as managers searched for a cheap forward with a goal or two in his locker. Indeed, 86,000 managers have transferred in the Brighton man since last week.

But there's a reason why we always advise against making early transfers: it's because sometimes those transfers go and get injured.

Ferguson was subbed off after a nasty Fabinho challenge in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Liverpool, and was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches.

It could just be precautionary, but the challenge was grimace-worthy enough to be concerned.

New players

Arnaut Danjuma > Spurs [Midfielder, Β£6.5m]

Jhon Duran > Aston Villa [Forward, Β£5.5m]

Jakub Kiwior > Arsenal [Defender, Β£4.0m]

Maximo Peronne > Man City [Midfielder, Β£4.5m]

We don't expect much immediate involvement from these new additions, so we'd recommend you do what you should always do when a new player joins the league: watch, wait and see.

Okay, we'll be back in your inbox on Thursday evening. The FPLTips team.
